Cookies with a message

This past Sunday, we got together at my parent’s house for a very relaxed and impromptu family get together. Now what usually happens at these get togethers of ours, is my sister and I always end up in the kitchen baking (planned or not). So as you can guess, yesterday was no different. We made the cutest cookies using my Cookie Message Set, bought from Clicks

These particular cookies were inspired by one of our all time favourite childhood sweets.

The recipe is courtesy of Kelsey over at Kelsey Nixon

Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Cream together butter and sugar.

In a separate bowl combine the salt,
baking soda, flour and baking powder.

Add remaining wet ingredients;
eggs, sour cream and vanilla.
Slowly mix the wet and dry ingredients until combined.
It’s at this point I have to mention that we added (roughly)
an extra cup of flour, because the dough was quite sticky.

Divide the mixture into four portions or however many
(depending on the amount of colours being used)
and then knead the colours into the dough.
Kneading is best as it properly mixes the colour into the dough.

Bag the dough and allow it to chill in the fridge for at least an hour.

Using your cookie message set stamp out and personalise your cookies.

We used: I love you, Be mine, Happy, Smile, Laugh, Cutie, Beautiful and Pretty.
Once you're done personalising your cookies, bake them in the oven for 8-10 minutes.
