Kuckle ring

Today I'm showing a little love for some beautiful rings. I've seen a few photos online of people wearing knuckle rings and I just love them. I think they're so stylish provided that they're kept small and dainty. I've been searching for a while now for these rings but I just can't seem to find the perfect ones. These are a few of my favourite designs that I've managed to find online.

Birthday fun

This post is an automated one as right now I am at a undisclosed location (more on that at a later stage). Yesterday was my Birthday (Yay), so I've decided to share a few photos of myself when I was way younger. Oh and feel free to laugh, I sure did have a good laugh looking at these.

Garden lights

It's been so cold here lately that I've dreaming about the return of summer. I can just see it now, working during the week and having weekends made up of lazy Saturday evenings or Sunday afternoons with friends and family  Everyone getting together for a big feast. Now of there is one thing I love about summer nights, it's getting to sit outside with a few candles lighting up the garden. That's what brought on the inspiration for my latest DIY project.

What you'll need:
Pliers
Glass bottles
Candles
Ribbon
Cellotape
Wire

Secure a piece of wire around the mouth of the glass bottle.
Use another piece of wire to create a handle,
this is so that you'll be able to hang the bottle from a tree branch.

Wrap the ribbon around the bottle and secure it with some tape.

Place a candle in each of the bottles.

There you have it you're garden lighting is done.

Such a surprise

Well if you read Monday's post, you'll know that I was nominated for a Liebster award and what an honour that was for me. So imagine my surprise and delight when I found out that Sarah from  Margarita Rambles had nominated me for a second Liebster award. It's been an awesome week to say the least. I have to say a huge thank you to Sarah and Sarah from Run Shop Eat Repeat for both making my week so unforgettable. Well without further ado here are the questions Sarah asked me.

What would be your ideal holiday?
My ideal holiday is somewhere along the coast or on a wine farm. Made up of lazy days reading and enjoying the peace and quiet.

What job did you want when you were young?
Haha, quite a funny one as I'm pretty sure I wanted to be a princess (not that, that's a job) when I was younger. I blame the endless amount of Disney movies we used to watch.

Which four celebrities would you like at a dinner party?
Lauren Conrad (for her style), Emma Watson (Harry Potter fan of note), Ryan Reynolds (need I even explain). I don't have a fourth really.

What is your least favourite food?
I don't really have a least favourite food, but if I had to absolutely choose it would be asparagus.

What is the weirdest dream you've ever had?
This is gong to sound really weird but I dream about snakes way too often. I'm so petrified of them that I have nightmares.

What was your first music gig?
I think it was The Coke feast, a twelve hour festival of some of the top bands from around the world. What an awesome day (minus the traffic) with all of my friends.

What album(s)/band(s)/artist(s) are you loving right now?
Florence and the Machine. I just can't get enough of it.

Describe yourself in five words.
Energetic, happy, sympathetic, emotional, perfectionist.

One Direction – thoughts??
NO!

Who is your influence?
It's impossible to settle on just one, as there are so many things that influence my life on a daily basis.

If you could be an animal, what would you be?
An Elephant. I'm obsessed with these big wrinkly and grey animals.

Peacock necklace

Last year I bought myself a pair of beautiful peacock earnings. I loved those earnings so much and wore them quite often. One night in particular when we went to a show I wore my peacock earnings but seemed to have lost one as well (how I did this I'm not sure). So now I was left with the dilemma of only having one earning, like I could really wear only one! A couple of weeks ago while browsing around online I saw these beautiful peacock necklaces and then I thought why don't I use my left over earning to make one of these necklaces for myself.

What I used:
Pliers
Scissors
Green Chinese cord
A couple of beads and charms
Peacock feather
Necklace chain

I cut some Chinese cord and placed two beads on it.

I cut a second piece of cord and placed two beads on it as well .

Then I cut a third piece and placed more beads on
it with an addition charm at the bottom.

I attached all three pieces of cord and the peacock feather to the chain.
There you have it my necklace is done.
Easy as that!

Have you done any DIY projects lately? I'd love to know as I'm always looking for more ideas and inspiration.

It's an honour

Honoured, flattered, chuffed and so blessed. This is how I feel about being nominated for a Liebster Award by fellow blogger Sarah from Run Shop Eat Repeat. Now for those of you who don't know what the Liebster award is, it's an award given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers, by other bloggers. It's such a fun and awesome way to give praise to other bloggers and let them know that you like what they've done (or do) on their blog.

Here are the rules for receiving this award:

Each person must post 11 things about themselves.

Answer the questions that the tagger set for you plus create 11 questions for the people you’ve tagged to answer.
Choose people to nominate and link them in your post.

Go to their page and tell them.

No tag backs!

Well here it goes:

1. When did you start your blog?
I started blogging in my third year at University. It was part of a class project we had to do.

2. Why did you start it?
Well to be honest I started blogging only because it was for marks (University marks that is) and it died as soon as the academic year was up. Then a year later I decided to give it another go, this time with a much better indication of how I wanted my blog to come together, what I wanted to blog about and for who I wanted to blog.

3. Favourite quote?
"A girl should be two things, fabulous and classy," Coco Chanel

4. Summer or winter?
Summer all the way. It's mainly because I'm so tiny so I tend to freeze throughout winter. I've walked around my house wearing winter pyjamas, my gown, socks, slippers and clutching a hot water bottle. I wear a minimum of three layers during winter.

5. If you could live anywhere, where would you choose?
Somewhere by the coast. So that I can spend my summer weekends lazing on the beach reading a book or two.

6. What's something you can't leave the house without?
My iPhone, yes I'm one of those people who loves their phone. But it's very useful to me as some of my blog posts are inspired by the photos I take with my phone.

7. What's your dream job?
To be a community manager for a big time fashion label, household goods company or wine farm.

8. Favorite food?
If you've been following this blog for a while you'll instantly know the answer to this....sushi. I write/obsess about it enough.

9. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Hmm, married (no kids, I need a lot more prep for those), located somewhere down by the coast, working as a community manager for an awesome brand and being deliriously happy.

10. What's your go-to drink?
Wine. Wow, I answered that one with way too much ease *hides head in shame.*

11. Have a piece of advice you'd give to your teenage self?
You'll always be shorter than everyone else but instead of hating it, embrace it as later in life you'll discover the huge benefits of being tiny.

So here are my nominations for the Liebster award and their questions.

Let's Keep Laughing
Loveliness of life
Lego House
At This Stage
Our Journey To Everywhere
Blonde In This City
Just Nat
The Start of The Shaws

1. What made you start a blog?
2. Favourite destination?

Friday Five

It's the Friday Five link up with the good life blog. Today's five is five things I've done over the last couple of days (weeks).

Snuggled with a bunny in the cold.

Had some delicious baklava.

Went to a wine and whisky affair.

Tasted some delicious tea.

Ate the most scrumptious dim sums.

What have you been up to lately?

A burst of colour

Since I made my braided headbands I've been feeling very colour inspired. So off to Pinterest I went where I scrolled and scrolled looking for some awesome colour combos for a project or two that I have in mind. Here is what's inspired me so far.

Have you seen any amazing colour combos lately?

Braided headbands

Just the other day I was browsing around the shops when I came across some beautiful headbands. I instantly fell in love with their beautiful colour combinations and designs, but they were a tad expensive for just headbands. That's when I got my bright idea, why don't I just make my own set of headbands.

What you'll need:
Material
Scirrors

Cut your material into three strips.

Tie the three strips together in a small knot.

Braid the stands together.
Once you have completed the braid, finish it off with another knot.

When you're done your headbands should look like this.
Tie the ends together and voila your headbands are done.
