Shopping on main

On most Sundays people like to relax...but if you ever find yourself in Jo'burg and looking for a fun and relaxing thing to do, why not make a stop past Market on Main.

This delightful market is filled with stalls selling everything from wooden crafts, ceramics, distinctively designed clothes, vegan foods, elaborate and unique looking cupcakes to a stall of Stellenbosch's finest olives. The market is located in the refurbished 1900's warehouse and is a sun filled quadrant where you can sit (on a picnic blanket) and enjoy some of the different foods on offer or just take in the people and surroundings.

The food alone (and the cocktails of course) is something to look forward too. You can have a taste of Bunny Chow, freshly made sandwiches on a selection of different breads or even some warming soups (for those winter months).

I just love taking home a selection of yummy treats from the Deli section. Market on Main is not your ordinary Sunday market, as each and every stall has a character of its own and the people who gather there are just as extraordinary. So if you have a free Sunday and you feel like doing something a little different why not head on down to Market on Main. The market is situated on Main Street, close to Ellis Park and the ABSA headquarters.
