For the love of fish!!

I am generally not a fan of fish; I am very fussy when it comes to the type of fish I eat. There is however one type of fish I cannot seem to get enough of and that is Sushi. I am so in love with sushi that if I don’t have sushi it at least once a week I begin to feel at odds with myself. Yes I am well aware of the fact that I have some kind of problem, it is an inside joke among my friends and I.

So today I will be sharing a few facts about my love…sushi!

  • Sushi isn't equal to raw fish. Raw fish is called sashimi and is not the same as sushi. Sushi indicates foods that use rice seasoned with rice vinegar. Of course, raw fish is the most popular ingredient in sushi, but the main element of sushi is rice.
  • Green tea (it's called agari in sushi restaurants) is the best drink with sushi.
  • Don't make wasabi soup with your soy sauce! Sushi Chef's cringe at this. The wasabi is there merely to cleanse the palette.
Below are my favourite types of sushi:

California Roll

Rainbow Roll

Fashion Sandwich

I have two favourite sushi restaurants and that is Yamada in Rivonia for some all you can eat and Nakamori in Douglasdale for some cheap sushi.

Flower power

Oh how I love Sundays, there is just something magical about each and every Sunday during the summer time.

This particular Sunday though, I am more excited than usual, as today I am get to redo a piece of my garden. This is something I have been dying to do for the past four years , but seeing as it is my parents’ house I have always needed their permission.

Well I finally after years of begging I got the go ahead on Wednesday. It will be a slow process of one patch of garden at a time.

For me a garden should be filled with one thing....colour! These are some of the ideas I would love to have in a garden.

We took a drive...

This past week, my lovely and I decided enough was enough a quick getaway was in order.
On Wednesday we took drive out to the Pilanesberg National Park for some much needed RnR.

It was just a day trip, but it also ended up being just what the doctor had ordered.
The scenery was beautiful, the animals were magnificent and the company was even better.
On this beautiful day, we saw Elephants, Rhinos, Impala, Giraffes, Jackal and Kudu.

Driving back into Johannesburg it felt like we had been away for a week…it is therefore safe to say the trip was well worth it.
