Apple toffee tart

Monday's are bad enough as it is, but thankfully yesterday wasn't too bad because we had a small family dinner party at my sister's house. It was just a relaxed, nothing too big (although there was plenty of food as we always tend to over cater) get-together.

For the occasion I decided to try something a little different for dessert. With the weather cooling down I wanted to make something comfort related, that would be nice and warm but not your boring everyday heated dessert. That's when I came up with my Apple toffee tart.

Ingredients:

Method:
Preheat the oven to 180.

Cream the butter and sugar (185ml) together.

Sift the dry ingredients together.

Add the dry ingredients and milk
to the sugar and butter mixture.
Once mixed, gently fold in the apples.

Pour into a greased dish
and bake for +/- 45 minutes.

Melt the cream, sugar (125ml)
and toffees over a low heat.

Remove the tart from the oven.

And immediately pour the toffee mixture over it.
Allow the sauce to absorb into the tart and serve
(might need to be heated a little first).

Beauty must haves

With the temperature dropping and the sun setting a little earlier in the evenings, it's time to start switching up the beauty routine to prepare for the harsh winter months. Now I don't know about the rest of you but my skin certainly takes a knock when it gets colder. To prevent it from completely suffering throughout winter I start my winter beauty routine just before it's cold enough to wear a jersey throughout the day. I start using a different body cream, hydrator, perfume and I even keep it glowing with a little bit of help from a self tan. Recently I've started using one or two new products and I'm really loving the results. These are just a few of my current favourites.

1. Uriage - Thermal water
2. Sorbet - Body butter
3. Caribbean tan -self tan
4. Essie nail polish - Wicked
5. Ralph Lauren - Midnight Romance

A quick catch up

Lately I've been neglecting the blog a little, which makes me rather sad. Unfortunately though, I've just been so busy that blogging has had to take a back seat. I'm hoping this will change real soon, and that I can get back into the rhythm of things. Thankfully though it hasn't been all work, I've managed to have some fun along the way. Here's just a small photo diary of what I've been up to.

Treating myself to a at home manicure.

The beautiful dives from Pretoria to Johannesburg.

Enjoying this tiny and delicious smoothie at an event.
